Gen 6:8
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
I taught on this subject in my Sunday school class and then God let me use it for reference in a message He gave me.
If I had to put a title on my thought it would be
How To Find Grace In The Eyes Of The Lord
If you study the book of Genesis you can see that the world was alot like what we have to face every day. But the scripture says that Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Some words that describe grace is favor, mercy, pardon, or unmerited favor of God.
Noah lived in a time where the people were just plain wicked. Their thoughs and imagination was on only evil continually. And the Lord repented for ever making man and was going to destroy it all. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Why did Noah find Grace?
Noah was a just man in spite of his surroundings he still honored the Lord. He lived a righteous life. You see it don't mater where we are at or the situations we come across in this life we can still live for God and not the world. You want mercy from God live for Him no matter what your situation is, or surroundings are.
We all know about God telling him to build the ark but here is another reason he found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Not only did God tell him what to do but Noah did it. Woe is me how many times has God told us to do something and we shunned the spirit and sat there and did nothing. I'm sure many people talked, laughed, mocked and several other things as Noah began to build the Ark. He just kept on going. You see it had never rained on earth at this point of time and I can imagine Noah warning people to repent and get ready and they thought he was some crazy man. Little did they know he had the all mighty God on his side leading him. And Noah was following him. You want favor with God follow him and let the Holy Spirit lead you.
See Noah held nothing back He gave everything to God. He is a good example of a type of Jesus himself. For Jesus held nothing back he gave it all for you and me. They did not kill Jesus he gave his life for us. Scripture says they led him away to crucify him. That tells me he went willingly. They didn't drag him, they didnt have to whip him to go but they led him to Calvary. In-spite of the evil in Noah's time he still did what God told him to he held nothing back. If you want unmerited favor with God hold nothing back give all unto Him.
Noah preached what was going to happen for many, many years and no body listen. Scripture say that he was the eighth person saved, a preacher of righteousness (II Peter 2:5). See the only people that heeded to his message was a few family members. You might not be a preacher but you can live a righteous life and plant seeds in the world. Especially to your family members. Imagine if all Christians helped lead all their family to the Lord. That wouldn't leave many people left off the boat. You want the blessings of the Lord witness for him to your friends and family.
In conclusion if you want to find grace in the eys of the Lord
Live right
Give it all unto the Lord
Believe the unbelievable
Follow God
Witness to others
God Bless
